In part one of Managing Difficult Employees by Incorporating Maintenance Tracking Software, we discussed a few tips such as compassion, communication, and leading by example. Here are some more tips on how you can effectively deal with difficult employees without losing your cool.

No matter what type of job you manage or what sector of work you're in, there are always difficult employees, that make you feel more like a babysitter then a boss – it's basic human nature for at least one person to be that “pain in your neck” that you have to deal with.

There are typically five distinct areas of a commercial property that seem to get neglected more than the rest of the property. Unfortunately, these areas need to be maintained so that the problem areas do not get out of hand and become a much larger project taking up valuable maintenance time.

An issue that comes up time and time again with maintenance departments is the budget and in some cases, the deferred maintenance budget. 

The Sydney Opera House may seem like a world away from where your business is located and that's probably true. However, there is something that you may share in common with this famous landmark; they have maintenance work that has to be done, just like everyone else.

When running a maintenance department, you have enough to keep yourself busy without having to worry about germs but keeping your facility and property healthy during flu season is important as well as your day-to-day tasks. 

In the past, if you ran a maintenance facility you had to be physically present to take care of the things that make your facility successful. All of the maintenance requests had to be handled in person, the preventative maintenance, keeping up with work orders, and more.
