Every major work order tracking system should operate like an automated air traffic controller.
Unfortunately, most large companies, whether they control large apartment complexes, have multiple business parks, or even simply try to maintain Reese Witherspoon, Taylor Swift, or Tiger Wood's massive mansions (see pic below) fail in the technology department.
While I don't currently work for a Fortune 500 company, those companies I have worked for over the past couple years (sorry, I won't name names) have had sadly inadequate maintenance systems. The most advanced way I put a work order in was to send an email over to the maintenance guys and hope they would see it before the end of the week. The least advanced was talking to the maintenance man whenever he happened to stop by. Tell me how that's effecient. I remember once at my last job, we had a broken dishwasher for over three weeks!!!
Now, I know we don't all work for Apple and have technology falling out of our ears, but the technology available here at Maintenance Care (contact us) is incredible affordable and boasts a wonderful work order tracking system.
It would be pretty amazing if we lived in Meet the Robinsons and had robots to clean and maintain our properties for us. Unfortunately, we aren't quite there yet. On the upside, the easy to use technology at Maintenance Care allows everything to go like clockwork. With every work order, maintenance list, and even upcoming preventive repairs coming through a customer's tablet or phone, there is no way a dishwasher sits for three weeks.
At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter the size of the company or facility to be maintained. Using the technology at hand to act intelligently will help operations to run smoother and more financially efficient.
