Postponing Despite Computerized Maintenance Management Software

If there's one thing that most Maintenance Facility Supervisors know is that preventative maintenance is key in keeping things running smoothly. Without doing the preventative maintenance that is necessary, a small issue can become a large repair later on.

For instance, some schools in Rhode Island have gotten so far behind on preventative maintenance that now these issues have turned into large repairs that will cost more to fix than if they'd have been taken care of from the start. With this particular instance, the problem was finding the money to budget for the maintenance work but with many maintenance facilities, the issue is simply scheduling the preventative maintenance to be done in the first place.

ProActive Maintenance

While preventative maintenance is a necessity, many facilities do not actively have a plan in place to ensure that the proactive maintenance gets tackled on a regular basis. Whether it is because the facility gets too busy to handle the things that have to be done or it simply gets pushed aside from lack of interest, this only causes bigger problems as time goes by.

One way to ensure that all of your preventative maintenance gets done is to use the software program from Maintenance Care. With this CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Software) you can schedule your preventative maintenance and even your work orders so that nothing gets overlooked. This can be done far in advance so that it becomes a regular part of the workday and repairs and maintenance are done in a timely manner to prevent things from getting out of hand.

Preventive Maintenance

For example, let's say you are the Maintenance Supervisor for a hotel. Something as simple as changing out the air filters to the heating and air conditioning units has to be done to make sure the units run efficiently. This is an easy task but if it is not kept up with, it can cause the units to malfunction, not work as properly, and even break down. This causes a domino effect where now the workload is much bigger than if the filter had simply been changed. With using the Preventative Maintenance area of the CMMS, you don't have to worry that tasks like these are being done.
