Announcing CareClean 2.0: Elevated Housekeeping Management for Clean, Safe Facilities

Longtime Maintenance Care customers will remember when we introduced a feature to manage cleaning tasks within their facilities, driven by real needs and user feedback as we expanded our maintenance software into new industries. 

Over time, as the demands and complexity of housekeeping management grew, we developed CareClean as a robust, standalone platform dedicated to streamlining the scheduling and management of cleaning services.

Today, we are thrilled to announce the release of CareClean 2.0, a major upgrade designed to revolutionize how facilities managers oversee their housekeeping operations. Let's dive into the exciting new features and enhancements our improved solution brings to facilities management.

A New Era of Housekeeping Scheduling

Maintaining housekeeping schedules with paper-based calendars, one-off messages and spreadsheets is a thing of the past. CareClean 2.0 addresses the needs of cleaning crews and their supervisors head-on with updated calendar views, offering more ways to simplify and enhance the scheduling processes for every space in your facility.

Enhanced Calendar Features:

  • Schedule and Assign Tasks: The new calendar interface allows users to schedule and assign cleaning tasks effortlessly. With just a few clicks, you can organize your housekeeping team’s duties for the day, week or month.

  • Customizable Visibility: Tailor your view to focus on specific team members. By selecting users in the left panel, you can choose whose tasks are visible, allowing for a more streamlined and personalized overview.

  • Drag-and-Drop Scheduling: This intuitive feature makes rescheduling a breeze. Simply drag and drop tasks within the calendar to adjust timing and assignments quickly.

  • Role-Based Permissions: Different roles have different capabilities. Master or Manager+ users have the authority to move and assign all tasks, ensuring high-level oversight, while other roles are limited to managing their designated responsibilities.

Improved Scheduler Duration and Matrix Limits

Understanding task duration is crucial for effective planning and resource allocation. In our CareClean upgrade, we’ve addressed issues related to task duration display, ensuring that all assignments are accurately timed and easy to manage.

Additionally, we've expanded our matrix limits to the following:

  • Matrix Limit Increase: The default matrix limit has been expanded to 100 reusable fields, providing greater flexibility in how you categorize and manage tasks.

  • Enhanced Question Limit: We've increased the number of questions per task from five to 10, allowing for more detailed task specifications and better data collection.

  • Expanded Task Matrix Limit: Now you can define up to 100 different task types within your system, up from the previous limit of 50. This expansion supports a broader range of housekeeping activities and more detailed task tracking.

Spaces Over Rooms: Better Descriptors for Your Facilities

One significant conceptual shift in CareClean 2.0 is the renaming of “Rooms” to “Spaces.” This change reflects a more flexible and encompassing approach to managing various areas within your facilities.

  • Spaces Feature: Whether you're overseeing a single site or multiple locations, the Spaces feature allows for more precise and versatile management.

    You can now categorize and schedule cleaning tasks for different types of spaces, from individual rooms to larger common areas, all tailored to the specific needs of your facility.

Cost Tracking and Financial Management

Keeping an eye on costs is essential for maintaining and balancing your organization’s budget. We’ve introduced enhanced cost-tracking options to help you manage your housekeeping expenses more effectively.

  • Hourly and Per-Cleaning Cost Tracking: You can now track housekeeper costs either hourly or per cleaning session. This flexibility enables better budgeting and financial planning, allowing you to align costs with actual work done.

Maintaining High Standards With Assigned Audit Reviewers

Keeping your facilities clean and sanitary is crucial, especially in environments where hygiene and sanitation fall within regulatory compliance requirements, such as hospitals and senior living centers. CareClean’s new reviewing feature makes it easier to uphold these standards with specific personnel assigned to inspect each cleaning.

  • Audit Reviewers: Assign specific reviewers to inspect and approve each cleaning task. This feature ensures that every cleaning job meets your established standards before it is marked complete, providing an extra layer of quality control.

Enhanced Mobile App Experience

Enabling your cleaning team to take their task lists, schedules and assignments on the go empowers them to work autonomously and boost their productivity. CareClean’s newest update brings improvements to the accompanying mobile app, making it more responsive and user-friendly.

  • Mobile App Enhancements: From bug fixes to new functionalities, our app is fine-tuned to provide a smoother, more efficient user experience. Whether you’re in the office or on-site, you can manage tasks, schedules and more from your mobile device.

    The CareClean mobile app is available to all users with their CareClean subscription.

Simplified Status Tab and Task Management

Navigating through numerous housekeeping tasks can be overwhelming, especially in busy facilities. CareClean 2.0 introduces several updates to simplify the task management process, including:

  • Default Settings: The Status Tab now always displays options for Current, Closed and Future tasks by default. This setup makes it easier to track and manage ongoing and upcoming tasks.

  • Display Improvements: We've removed color coding based on task status for a cleaner look and simplified the 'Assigned To' filter bar option.

  • Enhanced Selection Tools: A new side ‘Assigned To’ checkbox selection with color coding has been added to streamline task assignment and tracking.

  • Clear Task Completion Indicators: Completed tasks are now clearly marked with the word ‘DONE’ for immediate recognition of completed work.
